The Amerind Museum is housed in an historic building, constructed in stages beginning in the 1930s. Modifications to allow wheelchair access are difficult and expensive, but we are trying to make more areas in the museum accessible. We will do as much as we can to accommodate the needs of museum visitors with physical disabilities; please check with a museum staff member for assistance. However, we are not able to provide access to those in the heavier electric chairs, due to weight limits on our portable ramp. Unfortunately, the Art Gallery is not accessible. We now have a wheelchair accessible rest room, which is located in our picnic area. Please call if you have additional questions or comments about accessibility: (520) 586-3666.
